CCTV has been released after a man was left with a serious head injury during an assault in Birkenhead.
It is believed that at around 12am on Monday, October 7, a man was hit in an unprovoked attack after men approached him on Old Chester Road.
The victim, a 52-year-old man, suffered a serious head injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are now urging anyone who recognises the men to come forward.
Detective Inspector Paul Parry said: “I would encourage anyone who recognises the men pictured, or who has any information on the assault, to please get in touch.
“The victim was walking with a friend on Old Chester Road when the pair were approached by four men.
"He was then hit causing a serious injury, from which he is still recovering.
“Our enquiries into who is responsible are ongoing, and anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage, is urged to contact us.”
