YOUNG footballers from West Kirby United Girls held a dance fundraiser to raise cash for their teams.

The dance, at Heswall Hall, took place on Sunday, November 24 and was made possible thanks to Anamal Dance Company who volunteered their services for free.

Anna Malone and a team of three dancers taught the girls different dance moves for an hour and a half.

The rising football stars, aged between five to 12, then performed their dance in front of parents and supporters.

Manager of West Kirby United under 9's and under 11's girls teams Paul Wood said: "The girls had masses fun. They were laughing and smiling throughout.

"The dance team were wonderful, really positive, good fun and engaging. Teaching up to around 60 girls to perform a dance in a relatively short time was not an easy task.

"Not only did they do this, but they made it such fun. It allowed the girls to show off a creative, artistic and a sometimes silly side!

"All money raised from the sponsorship will go towards the individual girls teams and the development of the girls section."
