AN unattended pan of food was the cause of a house fire in Neston last night.
At around 7.30pm firecrews were called to a report of a blaze at a house in Churchill Court.
Four crews attended - one from Powey Lane, one from Ellesmere Port, one from Deeside in North Wales and one from Heswall.
Two firefighters each wearing breathing apparatus gained entry to the house and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire involving a pan of food that had been left unattended as it was cooking.
Firefighters were in attendance for nearly an hour-and-a-half.
