DRIVERS were warned to expect delays after a van broke down in the Wallasey Tunnel.
Merseytravel confirmed that Tunnels Police were on scene at around 9.30am today (Tuesday, November 12) dealing with a lorry breakdown in the Wallasey to Liverpool branch.
A large amount of smoke was produced by the van meaning visibility was reduced for drivers causing traffic to stop temporarily.
One lane was closed while police dealt with the incident.
The vehicle was removed and all traffic went back to normal flow at around 11.30am.
