DRIVERS are being warned to avoid a main road in Prenton due to flooding.
Flooding has caused major delays near to junction 3 of the M53 which is affecting the Woodchurch Road slip road towards the Asda superstore.
Wirral Council issued the warning on social media and are advising drivers to use an alternative route.
A Met Office severe weather warning is currently in place until 12am tonight.
Forecasters said that there is a small chance that homes and businesses could become flooded and fast flowing water that could cause danger to lives.
Drivers may find that their journeys take longer while there could be delays or cancellations to train and bus services.
⚠️ Due to the persistent heavy rain there is considerable flooding near junction 3 of the M53, affecting the A552 Woodchurch Rd slip road west-bound (towards the Asda superstore), leading to delays for traffic.
