The new scheme aims to ensure that the licensed drivers in Wirral are meeting the highest standards
THE first ever awards ceremony celebrating Wirral taxi drivers will take place this week.
Wirral's Licensing and Road Safety Teams will launch the first ever awards in the Liverpool City Region to recognise private hire and hackney cab drivers on Thursday, November 7.
Taking place at Williamson Art Gallery, the awards will ensure that licensed drivers in Wirral are meeting the 'highest standards' and hope to showcase the very best practice among the borough's drivers.
All taxi drivers will display new stickers in their cars to inform customers that they are licensed by Wirral Council and to highlight where they can provide feedback on the service that they have received.
