THIS month I witnessed a man in full protective clothing, including a face mask and glasses, spraying "weedkiller" up and down Woodchurch Road, including outside shops.

This was bad enough, but the offending patches of greenery were surrounded by puddles after the continual heavy rain.

This means that not only the plants were poisoned, but any unfortunate creature - be they insect, bird or dog - that drank from the puddles.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that the rain will also make this poison spread.

Glyphosphate is so harmful that humans need protection when spraying it.

Yet, they do so in public places with no regard for other life, be that human or otherwise.

When will this madness stop?
