THE Light Up A Life switch-on for Wirral Hospice St John takes place on Sunday, December 8.

Ten thousand lights will be switched on during the emotional Globe-backed ceremony in the hospice gardens, which starts at 5.30pm.

Pushing the button will be Tracie Powell, whose husband Allan passed away last year, after a brave battle with bowel cancer.

WEST Kirby Musical Theatre Company presents a 70th anniversary concert this week.

The group - formerly known as West Kirby Light Opera Society - will stage West End Tonight at Westbourne Hall, West Kirby from Friday (November 1) to Sunday, November 3.

It features songs from shows including Lion King, Blood Brothers, Dreamgirls, Ghost, The Greatest Showman and more.
