FOLLOWING on from Tom Slemen’s Haunted Wirral column last week about a so-called Tranmere demon, I want to reassure readers that there is nothing haunted about St Catherine's Church on Church Road, Tranmere.

Instead of the darkness of demons we hold out the light of the good news of Jesus Christ, which we enjoy sharing with everyone.

If you come along to St Catherine’s there would be nothing to scare you but you will be assured of a warm welcome.

We’re a vibrant, friendly church, offering people of all ages and backgrounds an opportunity to find out how Jesus can make a difference to our lives.

Come along to our morning service at 11am (with groups for children) or our informal service at 7pm.

St Catherine's has been at the heart of the local community, since it was first built in 1831.

We enjoy good links with the local Scout groups, the YMCA, Mersey Park School and St Catherine’s Health Centre as well as being a Foodbank distribution centre.

We’re delighted to run midweek groups for both primary school and secondary school children plus a parent and toddler group.

We’re open on Tuesday lunchtime for anyone to drop in for a chat, a quiet moment, a prayer or a cuppa.

Check out our website for (stcatherinestranmere.co.uk) or the Facebook page for St Catherine’s Church, Tranmere.

So St Catherine’s Church: it’s not haunted, please don’t be daunted – try us out, you really ought to!

Rev James Terry, Vicar, St Catherine’s Church.
