POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery at a post office in Ellesmere Port.
At 8.35pm on Wednesday, October 9, a man entered the post office and store on the A41 Chester Road with a knife and demanded staff open the safe. He then tried to get behind the counter but fled when the panic alarm went off.
The man is described as wearing dark clothing.
DS Damian Tierney said: “While nothing was taken, this was still a shocking experience for staff at the store.
“I’d urge anyone with information to contact me, whether you saw suspicious activity, have dashcam footage or information on the robbery.”
Anyone with information should contact DS Damian Tierney on 101 or via www.cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries, quoting IML 534918.
Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Anyone with dashcam footage can submit it at www.cheshire.police.uk/advice-and-support/roads-and-vehicle-safety.
