WALLASEY-based St Paul's Musical Theatre Company's production of My Fair Lady will be staged later this month.

Produced and directed by Brenda Davies with music direction by Sian James, the show is at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton from October 24-26.

The cast features Rebecca Hulse as Eliza Dolittle, David Oliver as Henry Higgins and John Phipps as Colonel Pickering. Tickets from 666 0000.

Self defence

A SELF defence course organised by West Kirby Aikido Club will take place on Fridays October 11, 18, 25 and November 1 at West Kirby Concourse function room from 7.30–8.30pm.

Suitable for men and women of all ages.

No experience needed, but will be of particular interest to those who ‘used to do’ martial arts.

More tea Vicar? is the title of a talk to New Brighton Townswomen’s Guild this Thursday.

D-Day talk

OPERATION Overlord 75 Years On - The D-Day Landings is the subject of Deeside Lecture Society’s presentation next Thursday, October 17.

Christmas fair

A CHARITY Christmas Fair will be held at Claremount Church in Wallasey later this month.

Taking place at the venue on Saturday, October 26 from 10-2pm, it will be a chance to buy cards from a large selection of local and national charities which is free entry.

There will also be refreshments, including a hot drink and a bacon butty. 

Cheshire Cats

THE Cheshire Cats play every Wednesday at the Poulton Vics Club.

The evening features rock ‘n’ roll music to live bands. Entrance. £1.50. Raffle £1.

All proceeds go to Disabled and Sick children’s Charities.

Book fair

WIRRAL Book Fair will be held at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton this Saturday from 11am-4pm.

Among the books for all tastes and ages is a special collection of pop-up books as well as Beano and Dandy annuals - classic and recent, local history titles, postcards and suitably scary books for Halloween.

There will be a guest appearance and book signing from top-selling author Stephen Done, from 11am-1pm.

Historians Richard Jackson and David Hearn be will also be on hand throughout the afternoon as well as Cathy Roberts, author of Tales of the Mersey Moggies.

Christmas show

PORT Sunlight Players are looking for new members to join them for their production of Christmas Cracker .

The show will feature songs from musicals as well as Christmas songs.

If you would like to join them rehearsals take place upstairs at The Lever Club in Greendale Road, Port Sunlight from 7.30-9pm on Monday evenings.

Children can also join too from 6-7.30pm.
