A PARTY celebrating 35 years since Halton Haven Hospice opened its doors will take place next month.

The event at Halton Stadium on Saturday November 16, promises to be full of fun with an '80s theme, two-course meal and optional fancy dress.

Entertainment will be provided by singer Lisa Jane Kelsey and a DJ.

There will even be a specially-designed cocktail in the Hospice colours to start the night off.

Hospice chief executive Viv Culleton said: "We're very excited about the event and looking forward to a wonderful evening.

"It will be an opportunity for the community to get together and celebrate how far we have come in those 35 years, to share memories of how the Haven has helped them and their families, or how they have been involved with us, and to have a lot of fun in the process."

Halton Haven provides specialist palliative care, completely free of charge, to people from Halton and surrounding areas who are living with terminal conditions.

Annual running costs are approximately £2.5million each year.

The Hospice only receives around half of this money from statutory sources, leaving a shortfall of approximately £1.25m which they must find each year.

It is only thanks to the support of local people and organisations that they are able to raise this money and continue offering services to the local community.

Tickets for the 35th anniversary party, £20, are from Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/halton-haven-hospice-35th-anniversary-celebration-2019-tickets-70757931879.
