ELLESMERE Port pupils have joined the council’s Love Your Streets campaign to transform an alleyway near their school.

During the two days, around 90 pupils from years four, five and six at Cambridge Road worked with residents to clear litter and weeds, they also planted up flower planters to add some eye-catching colour to the area.

Chester and District Standard:

More than 40 bags of waste were collected and pupils also litter picked the school field, the park and the pathway leading around the school.

Planters were donated by the local community and business including Simply the Best florists, and the flowers were donated by Walkers Nursery.

Councillor Karen Shore, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment, Highways and Strategic Transport, said: “A huge well done and thank you to all the pupils, residents and businesses involved in this project. All their hard work and generosity has achieved a fantastic end result. Our Love Your Streets campaign has brought many groups together to make a difference in their community at events like this.
