WIRRAL TV chef Simon Rimmer will be joining a coffee morning bake sale in West Kirby to help raise cash for Lymphoma Action.

Best known for hosting Sunday Brunch, Simon will head to his restaurant The Viking Pub & Bakehouse on Wednesday, September 18 to help those affected by blood cancer.

Residents are being invited to take part by baking a treat or bringing along a shop bought treat instead.

The event, taking place from 10.30am will also include a raffle.

A volunteer for Lymphoma Action Julia Lovatt said: "Everyone is welcome to come along from 10.30am for a fun-filled morning, and we are delighted that Simon is able to join us!

“The morning will include a raffle, thanks to a number of local businesses donating raffle prizes.

"The Viking Pub & Bakehouse Team are also inviting guests to bake it or fake it as part of the bake sale, by either having a go at baking a treat to add to the pantry, or by bringing along a shop bought delight instead.

“We hope that the event will raise as much awareness as possible for Lymphoma Action, which exists to ensure everyone affected by lymphoma receives the best possible information, support, treatment and care.”

As September marks Blood Cancer Awareness Month, Lymphoma Action will be sharing stories from those who have been affected by lymphoma to show how common this cancer is and to explain the support that the charity offers.

If you would like to have a go at baking a sweet/savoury treat email the team via info@thevikingpub.co.uk.
