TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft after police pulled over a car in Birkenhead.
At around 6pm on Monday, September 9 officers on patrol spotted a Ford Focus on Green Lane which was then followed and stopped on Clifton Crescent.
There was a strong smell of cannabis and following a search, officers found a tools, a knife and cannabis.
A 43-year-old man from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and drug driving.
A 39-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft, possessing controlled drugs, possessing a knife and possessing an offensive weapon.
They have both been taken to police stations for questioning.
Officers are now urging residents to always call 999 if a crime is in progress, or pass any info via Merseyside Police on social media @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
