A FAMILIAR face at Aldi's store in Laird Street, Birkenhead has celebrated 25 years' service with the company.

Suzanne Esser, store assistant, was presented with a certificate in recognition of her achievement.

Suzanne is the first colleague to celebrate 25 years' service in Merseyside this year.

She has been been part of the Aldi team in Birkenhead since the store opened and is responsible for supporting the team in successfully running the branch.

Her role involves tasks such as working on the till, stock management and merchandising.

During Suzanne's time at Aldi, she has gone above and beyond her typical store duties by taking part in a range of activities, including raffles and bake offs, to help the store raise money for its dedicated charity, Teenage Cancer Trust.

She said: "It has been a privilege to work for Aldi for 25 years.

"The customers and my colleagues make Aldi such a great place to work.

"A lot has changed in the last 25 years - we used to have to remember the price of every item in the shop off by heart!

"I'm incredibly proud that I’ve been part of the team in Birkenhead for all these years, especially helping to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust, which is a great charity that we all work hard to support.

"My team and colleagues are what makes working for Aldi so great - we're one big family who I hope to continue working with for many years to come.”

James Lynch, area manager at Aldi UK, said: "Colleagues like Suzanne are the cornerstone of our business and I thank her for the continued dedication she has shown throughout the last 25 years."
