A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs after police raided a house in Birkenhead.

He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing an electrical incapacitation device after police found a torch-style Taser, 30 bags of suspected cannabis and around £4,000 in cash at the address in Rodney Street.

He was taken to a police station for questioning.

Community policing inspector Georgina Minnery said: "This warrant, like many, was a result of intelligence from the community, and I want to pass on our thanks to all of those who come forward with what they know.

"Such information is vital in taking this positive action, and removes drugs, weapons and other risks from where you live.

"Keep the information flowing and we will keep targeting those people and locations causing issues."
