A PIGEON has had a lucky escape after being suspended by its leg from a tree in Spital.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to Poulton Road at around 11.30am today (Wednesday, August 28) following reports a bird was trapped in a tree.
On arrival, firefighters found a pigeon suspended by its leg - 25ft from the ground.
They used a triple extension ladder to reach the bird and a bow saw to cut it free from the tree.
The RSPCA then took the pigeon into its care.
Firefighters left the scene at around 12.28pm.
