A PENSIONER was threatened by two masked burglars during a terrifying early morning break-in at his Bebington home.

The incident is reported to have happened at around 2am on Saturday (August 24) at an address on Beatrice Ave, Higher Bebington.

The victim, a man in his 70s, awoke to find an unknown man in his home.

He threatened the victim whilst another man made an untidy search of the house where they stole a small amount of cash before leaving.

The men are described as white, one around five foot nine and the other over six foot, one wearing jeans and a pale green hooded top and the other dressed all in black, both wearing black scarves over their face.

Detective Inspector Tracey Martin said: "Thankfully the victim wasn't injured, however this is hugely distressing and an obviously frightening incident.

"I would urge anyone with information to really think; how would you feel if this had happened to your relative, your grandparent, your dad?

"It is a shocking invasion of privacy which has left the victim very upset in return for the intruders receiving a quite frankly, pointless financial gain.

"I am appalled that someone could think it is okay to do this to someone else and that’s why I want anyone that believes they have information to come forward.

"I know due to the time of the incident, it may be unlikely that someone saw someone acting suspiciously but you never know.

"Please get in touch and help us bring these people to justice.”
