A 52-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault on a 78-year-old woman in Ellesmere Port.
Wayne Hill, who is from Ellesmere Port but more recently living in Sandbach, was arrested in Penistone Drive, Little Sutton at around 10.45pm on Tuesday, August 20.
Officers had attended Penistone Drive a short time before after a 78-year-old woman suffered serious injuries following an incident.
The woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
Hill has been charged with attempted murder and has been remanded in custody.
He will appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday, September 20.
