STUDENTS and staff at Wade Deacon High in Widnes had cause for celebration after achieving one of the school's best ever sets of GCSE results.
In total, 76% of students achieved ‘The Gold Standard’ of Levels 9-4 in English and Mathematics with 57% of students achieving Levels 9-5. 30% of all grades achieved were at the highest level of 9-7 – an increase of 7% from 2018 and 84% of all grades achieved by all students across all subjects were at levels 9-4 with 71% at 9-5.
Wade Deacon's principal Simon Corner paid tribute to the hard work and dedication of all students, staff and of parents and carers telling Runcorn & Widnes World: "This is a proud day for everyone at Wade Deacon High School.
"Our students have achieved outstanding results and their successes are richly deserved.
"I wish to thank our wonderful staff team, as well as our parents, carers and all those connected with the school for their support that has led to our results today.
"We are committed at Wade Deacon High School to providing a curriculum that motivates and inspires our youngsters and which prepares them for the future. Students today have achieved great success across a quality curriculum and I could not be happier for them."
