TWO lucky neighbours are celebrating after receiving £1,000 each thanks to the People's Postcode Lottery.

The Bebington residents scooped up their winnings when their CH63 postcode was revealed in the Daily Prize draw on Friday, August 16.

Sending her congratulations, People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said: “What a way to kick-start the weekend for our winners in Wirral!

"I hope they treat themselves to something special with the windfall.”

Last month seven neighbours from New Ferry won an astonishing £30,000 each on the Postcode Lottery and even had ambassador Jeff Brazier knock on their doors on Monday, July 8.

The £30,000 prize was part of a special summer campaign where a postcode is announced as a winner of the Street Prize every day.

Around 32% of ticket sales go to charities and good causes - The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity received £20,000 last year from People's Postcode Lottery to help provide emotional and physical support to people living with cancer.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players support, and the next opportunity local charities will have to apply for funding is early next year.
