THE fire service say that last week's fire at a Newton-le-Willows car maintenance garage is believed to have been caused by an "electrical issue", an investigation has revealed.
Crews spent more than two hours tackling the blaze which broke out at a car maintenance garage in Newton-le-Willows on Tuesday night last week (August 13).

The premises was severely damaged by the fire, during which black smoke could be seen billowing into the skies.
The front entrance of the property suffered severe smoke damage and the adjacent warehousing suffered around 30 per cent damage by smoke, the fire and service said.
Crews spent more than two hours at the scene tackling the blaze, leaving at around 11.15pm.
There were no reports of any injuries.
A spokeswoman from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service says an electrical issue has been found to have caused the blaze.
She said: "The suspected cause is an electrical issue, either with the main consumer unit. However, because of the extent of the damage, an electrical issue with one of the vehicles can't be totally ruled out."
During the blaze, a fire service spokesman said: "On arrival crews found an industrial unit, approximately 20m x 10m, well alight. The fire had spread to adjacent units.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus gained access to the property. Two hose reel branches are in use, as well as main branches."
