JEREMY Corbyn has pledged to table a motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister Boris Johnson when Parliament returns as he addressed hundreds of party members and activists from across the region.

The leader of the opposition visited Bolton for a Labour Roots rally at the University of Bolton Stadium this evening following a tour of the town centre.

During his speech Mr Corbyn also promised to tackle the housing shortage, provide funding to tackle homelessness and create a "green industrial revolution".

Other top priorities set out by the Labour leader included nationalising the railways, water and utilities, reforming political party funding, and supporting schools the NHS and public services.

The rally also heard speeches from the shadow home secretary Diane Abbott, Salford and Eccles MP Rebecca Long-Bailey and many other North West Labour party activists.
