However, police said Peter had still not been found and the sighting was not confirmed as being Peter.

Peter's partner Faye Morris has appealed to people in Chester, as well as Ellesmere Port, to pass on any possible sightings or information to the police.

On her Facebook page, Faye appealed directly to Peter.

She said: Peter I need you home this is too many hours you have been gone. We can sort any issues you may have. You are not alone - you have me, Fergie, Lacey, and your family - so please, babe, come home.

"I need you. My heart is empty.

"You're my rock and I'm yours, so let me help you and do what is needed."

After Peter had been missing for 40 hours, she urged people to keep searching for 6ft 4ins Peter.

"Come on, get sharing. The more we share and make aware, maybe someone will see him. This isn't a person you can just walk past and miss. Someone has to have seen him, he can't just disappear of the face of the earth with no sightings.

"If someone is with him and he doesn't want to be found and he asked you not to contact anyone, I am begging and pleading you to do the right thing by us as a family."
