A NEWLY-formed cycle club is encouraging people to get out on their bikes this summer.
Dave Walsh and Neil Hughes set up Helsby Cycle Club in June this year with the aim to get more of the local community out on their bikes and get more people involved in the community sports club.
The club holds a Tuesday evening ride at 7pm and a Sunday morning ride at 9am.
Both are weekly and start from the club car park.
Neil said: "We are looking to expand our numbers and grow the cycling section of Helsby Community Sports Club.
"Alongside the weekly rides, we are holding a September fundraiser. This will raise money for both the Countess of Chester maternity ward and the cycling club itself. Tickets will be on sale from the club."
Since setting up the club it has gone from strength to strength and now has a average ride number of 10 to 12 riders.
Pictures are members of the club wearing Helsby jerseys that have been custom made by Shutt VR.
