THE phlebotomy service changed on July 1.

Most blood tests have reverted back to people having to make an appointment at their GP practice, however, I have to have monthly blood tests prior to my receiving monthly treatment at Arrowe Park Hospital.

I have been told that these “consultant requests” for blood tests cannot now take place in GP surgeries.

It means I have to make an appointment either at Arrowe Park or Clatterbridge Hospital.

It also means I will have to either drive, struggle to park & pay £3.20 hospital parking, or pay a lot of money for a return taxi trip.

This seems to me that I’m being penalised by now having to attend a hospital for a monthly blood test. This seems to be very unfair for people like me who are ill with chronic illnesses and need regular blood tests requested by a consultant.

Once again it seems this phlebotomy service hasn’t been thought through and sick people who need regular blood tests requested by a consultant have not been considered.

As if we don't have enough to put up with!
