A MISSING dinghy from the Isle of Man has been recovered from the River Mersey.

The UK Coastguard tasked New Brighton RNLI lifeboat crew recovered the inflatable dinghy which was floating north of Crosby in the Mersey at around 8.50am on Thursday, August 1.

Once on scene the crew found a small inflatable dinghy and a fishing road with one oar onboard.

It is believed that the dinghy had broken free from a yacht which was moored at Laxey Harbour in the Isle of Man and was reported missing on Sunday, July 28.

The RNLI volunteers returned the dingy to shore crews and returned to the boathouse at around 9.30am.
