THE annual Family Funday will be taking place at Chester Racecourse this weekend.

Sponsored by MBNA, the Family Funday on Sunday, August 4 will boast a petting zoo, Chester FC soccer skills zone, story-telling and live music.

First introduced in 1995, the family-friendly day will kick off with funk and soul band Yubaba while kids can enjoy face painting, arts & crafts, a colouring wall and inflatable play zone.

Chester's award-winning Storyhouse will be on site hosting story-telling sessions with the chance to win tickets to a performance of Peter Pan.

There will even be a polo match on inflatable steeds that youngsters can take part in.

Tickets to the year’s annual Family Funday fixture start at just £12 per adult on the Open Course, while kids aged 17 and under can attend this and all other Chester Racecourse fixtures completely free.

Racing begins with the Britvic Nursery Handicap Stakes at 2pm and concludes with the 1539 Handicap Stakes at 5.20pm.

All children’s activities are provided free of charge. Minimum age and height restrictions may apply for some of the activities on offer.

Due to the volume of attendees on the Open Course, queues for the activities should be expected. Please be aware that a dress code is in operation.
