A WIRRAL man is preparing to cycle almost 1,000 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats for the Alzheimer's Society and needs your support.
Paul Remmonds of Prenton will cycle an average of 110 miles each day during the challenge, which runs from September 7-15.
The 61-year-old aims to raise more than £2,200 by cycling 980 miles over nine days, across 27 counties in England, Wales and Scotland.
Paul said: "I have decided to take part in this challenge for Alzheimer’s Society in memory of my Dad, Ray Remmonds, and to help to raise funds to support people affected by dementia like my mum.
"It's great to think that I will be raising funds to help support people living with dementia now and to fund research to one day find a cure for dementia."
Alzheimer's Society, Events Coordinator William Bauckham welcomed Paul Remmonds decision to help raise money for the charity.
He said: "It's wonderful that Paul is giving his time to support Alzheimer's Society.
"Dementia devastates lives, but dementia won't win.
"Until the day we find a cure we will be here for anyone affected by dementia, where they are, whatever they're going through.
"We need more people like Paul to join us now and unite against dementia."
