ON July 1, the procedure for having a blood test changed.
You can now no longer attend a drop in centre for a blood test ordered by your GP.
All blood tests are now to be carried out in house at your practice surgery.
There appears to now be no same day blood tests.
My daughter recently attended her GP on July 10 and was advised a blood test was needed.
On going to the reception desk she was informed the next available day for a blood test would be July 22, some ten days later.
She will then have to wait a few days for the results to come back and then make another appointment with her GP.
What was the point of changing to a system that required you to wait anywhere up to two weeks before you can get a blood test done when it was available on a same day basis before this change.
Is this the NHS now going backwards?
