ON September 11 the Tour of Britain's fifth stage is based in Wirral, starting and finishing in Birkenhead.
At one point the race goes on the B5133 through Willaston village, the surface of which does not lend itself to a major bike event with its potholes and raised metal grids.
Are there any plans to resurface this section (again) before this major event?
