A SECOND arrest has been made after a teenager was robbed at knifepoint for his mobile phone in Tranmere last month.

At around 8.20pm on Tuesday, June 18, a 17-year-old boy was walking along Agnes Road before he was followed by two boys who had been sitting on a bench as he walked past.

The boys - who wore hooded coats, masks and gloves - confronted the teen, threatening him with knives before demanding his mobile phone.

They then snatched the phone before running off towards Sidney Road.

Police confirmed today (Friday, July 19) that they had arrested a 14-year-old boy from Tranmere on suspicion of robbery and affray.

He has since been released under investigation.

The latest arrest follows that of a 15-year-old boy from Tranmere who was also detained last month on suspicion of robbery and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

He has also been released under investigation.
