TWO fire engines attended after a blaze broke out at an address on Monday night (July 15).

Firefighters attended a property on Ashton Road, Newton-le-Willows, shortly after 9.15pm.

Crews extinguished the flames quickly, which had broken out in a utility room at the home.

There were no injuries from the incident, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said.

A statement said: "Crews were alerted at 9.19pm and on scene at 9.22pm. Two fire engines attended.

"On arrival crews found a fire in the utility room of the property.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property under rapid deployment to prevent the fire from escalating.

"Firefighters extinguished the fire before allowing the room to ventilate naturally.

"Crews carried out a Home Fire Safety Check before leaving the scene at 10.01pm."
