POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a gun was used to threaten a household in Wallasey.

Emergency services were called just after 7am today (Tuesday, July 16) to Wright Street following reports that three men in an alleyway were threatening residents in a house.

One of the men is believed to have had a gun.

No-one was injured during the incident and officers found no evidence of gunshots.

House-to-house and CCTV enquiries have been carried out in the local area.

Merseyside Police are now appealing for anyone who was in the area and may have seen the men or may have witnessed the altercation.

Detective Inspector Nick Suffield said: “I would ask anyone who was in the area of Wright Street who saw anything or any motorists who believed they captured something on dash cam footage to get in touch as they may having information which is vital to our investigation.”
