FOOTBALL'S "Duracell bunny" has been headhunted to take her career to the next level.

Emily Bentley, 16 of Prestatyn, has signed for Burnley Women FC (BFC) and will make the move to the Lancashire club in August.

The move comes after a momentous 2018/19 season, where the winger was given the rare opportunity to play in the Welsh Women's Premier League for Rhyl Ladies FC rather than finish her final under 16s season with the Rhyl Hearts.

Rhyl Ladies first team manager Cassandra Thomas said "She is not a selfish player or a glory hunter and she is definitely a team player.

"She just loves playing football and never stops. People often ask “Where does she get the energy from” and her Rhyl Ladies teammates have nicknamed her the Duracell Bunny. We will miss her, but wish her the very best."

As well as playing in the Premiership she also attended Wrexham Academy and was able to play for both clubs.

Emily, who has also played three season at Prestatyn has been playing since the age of 10 and as well as playing in the Premiership she also attended Wrexham Academy and was able to play for both clubs.

At her school, Ysgol Glan Clwyd, she was awarded as a 'director of football', where she was involved in an initiative entitled 'Play More Football' designed by the Welsh FA and Football Trust to maximise the participation of children and young people in football across Wales.

She has also been a part of the Welsh FA North Wales Performance Centre of Excellence. In addition to this she has carried out voluntary work and has helped to coach two boys’ teams.
