TRANMERE Rovers have signed striker Jordan Ponticelli on loan from Coventry City until January next year.

The 20-year-old will be available for selection for tomorrow night's friendly against Liverpool at Prenton Park.

Jordan is a graduate of Coventry's academy and has gone on to appear 24 times for the Sky Blues, scoring three times.

He has also gained experience with a loan spell at Macclesfield Town.

Speaking after his move was finalised, Jordan said: "I'm delighted to get the move sorted.

"I've put a lot of hard work in to get an opportunity like this so I'm glad it's all sorted now.

"It's always nice to know that you're wanted at a Club and Tranmere have shown that interest in me.

"I see myself as a hard working striker who presses defenders and I back myself to take chances when they come my way."

After bringing the striker to Prenton Park, Micky Mellon said: "I'm really pleased to welcome Jordan to the group for this season.

"He's a young, hungry striker with plenty of ambition in the game and he is the type of player who we want to have at the Club.

"We're looking forward to working with Jordan."
