EVERTON will be hiding copies of the first ever shirtzine across Wirral and Liverpool to mark the release of the new home kit for 2019/20 season.

Edited by Evertonian and Mundial writer Alan Bond and produced with Umbro, three editions of the shirtzine St. Domingo will be released to unveil each of the club's new strips ahead of the new season.

The first edition marks the release of the Blues' home kit which has been designed on the theme 'Built To Last' and will be available to pre-order by calling into Everton One or Everton Two stores.

Featuring in the shirtzine is the club's first team stars - Richarlison, Seamus Coleman and Tom Davies alongside ladies team members Megan Finnigan and Danielle Turner.

A total of 1878 (the founding year of Everton) first-edition copies of St.Domingo have been printed and individually numbered, with players past and present signing selected shirtzines.

Various copies will be placed in key locations around Merseyside and fans lucky enough to find them are encouraged to share pictures of the locations on social media.

Other editions will be given away through competitions on the Club’s digital channels.

Alan McTavish, commercial director at Everton Football Club said: “Our St. Domingo shirtzine is a first for the Football Club.

"The theme for this year’s home kit is ‘Built To Last’, which celebrates our Club’s rich history in a modern and eye-catching way.

“We’ve used the shirtzine not just to offer an insight into the technical and design elements of the 2019-20 kit, but to explore the wider meaning of a football shirt and the personal associations our fans and players make with the wearing of an Everton shirt.

"It has allowed us to tell compelling stories – from our Club, the designers Umbro, and our fans.”

St. Domingo includes a feature on legendary stadium architect Archibald Leitch and his distinctive criss-cross lattice design which graces the upper tier of the Bullens Road stand at Goodison - and provided Umbro with the inspiration for the graphic design on the chest of this year’s home kit.

Jonathan McCourt, Umbro UK marketing manager, said: “Everton is a club renowned for its ‘firsts’ and we wanted to stick to that tradition with the first ever shirtzine.

"The publication is centred on content that fans can connect and identify with, whether you’re a true Evertonian or a wider genuine football enthusiast.

“With the relaxed editorial player shots, stylised kit images and considered features, that outline the inspiration and design of the kit, we feel the shirtzine is a perfect way to showcase all the bespoke elements to the new kit.

“Whether you read it online, pick it up in one of the city’s cultural hot spots or on social media, there is something for everyone.”
