The Birkenhead Tunnel will be closed for the Liverpool to Chester Bike Ride
DRIVERS are being urged to plan ahead of Birkenhead Tunnel closures this weekend.
Merseytravel confirmed that the Queensway Birkenhead Tunnel will be closed for the Liverpool to Chester Bike Ride on Sunday, July 7.
The closures will be in place from 6am until 1pm in both directions and then from 1pm to 4pm from Birkenhead to Liverpool.
Next week, the tunnel will also be closed until the early hours of Sunday, July 14 as part of the Liverpool Nightrider Event.
The closures will be in place from 10.30pm to 11.30pm on Saturday from Liverpool to Birkenhead only and then from 1am to 4am on Sunday in the direction of Birkenhead to Liverpool.
