IN reply to Rob Hughes' letter on June 19 regarding his request of a speed limit.
I note he says that kids, dogs and the elderly stray into the lane.
The cycle lane is a small percentage of the overall prom I am a triathlete and use the prom for training around 7am to 9am.
People don't stray into the lane they stand in them talking withy up to five dogs and others let their dog off the leash to run at and around the bikes some with the long leashes are quite away from their dog, overall they don't care.
Cycle later and it's worse.
The other Sunday I came down the prom to finish a long ride at New Brighton and you couldn’t see the lane for people walking in them.
When you point out to them they are in a line, you can guess the language we are met with - it’s a disgrace.
Even as Rob suggests a speed limit, this wouldn’t stop them walking in it.
The hope is to stop people walking in them.
