THE foremost remain TV company, the BBC, has exacted revenge on the age group it blames for voting for Brexit by taking away the free TV licence the week after D Day commemorations which some of the over-75s took part in.
Charter notwithstanding, the Beeb should have taken paid adverts years ago, then we could all have had free TV licences.
The slots currently used for those irritating trailers promoting future programmes would be ideal. BBC Radio could employ a similar strategy.
It is ironic that forty years of privatisation ideology implemented by Tory and Labour governments left the BBC alone so it could impose a virtual poll tax on every household, except of course MPs, who get free licences!
