BIRKENHEAD shoppers have raised £831.86 for two children's charities as part of One Great Day.
Visitors to the Pyramids Shopping Centre raised the cash for Claire House Children's Hospice and Great Ormond Street as part of a series of family and community events being held across the UK called One Great Day.
The fun-packed day at the centre included a tombola with prizes donated by shops including the Perfume Shop, River Island, The Entertainer, Mi Wardrobe and The Body Shop.
Alongside the tombola, there were games to play and a selection of special guests including Viking Lion, Little Bo Peep and Roy the Camel.
Derek Millar, commercial director at Pyramids Shopping Centre told the Globe: “One Great Day has been a fantastic event which brought our community together while helping children that really need support.
“Hosting an event like this has been a really fun way to give something back to assist the wonderful work of Claire House and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, which supports patients and families from across the UK.
“We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the day a huge success including our brilliant team here at Pyramids.
"The generous contributions people have made for these worthy causes will directly help children in our local community, as well as further afield.”
