Police have launched a witness appeal after a man was reportedly punched by a cyclist in West Kirby.
Officers were called at around 4.40pm on Wednesday, June 19 to the Wirral Way near the junction of Church Road and Westbourne Road following reports that a man had been assaulted by a cyclist.
It is alleged that a spat had taken place between the man and two cyclists before the victim was reportedly punched in the head but not seriously injured.
The cyclist is white, in his 30s and was wearing a yellow vest.
Both men are believed to have ridden off towards Heswall.
Community policing chief inspector Nick Gunatilleke said: "The exact circumstances are unclear at this stage but there is alleged to have been an altercation on the path before a punch was thrown.
“If you were passing and saw anything, or two cyclists riding close to this location at the time, please come forward with what you know and we will take the necessary action."
