A 15-YEAR-OLD boy been arrested after a teenager was robbed at knifepoint for his mobile phone in Tranmere.

At around 8.20pm on Tuesday, June 18 a 17-year-old boy was walking along Agnes Road before he was followed by two boys who had been sitting on a bench as he walked past.

The boys, who wore hooded coats, masks and gloves then confronted the teen, threatening him with knives before demanding his mobile phone.

They snatched the phone before running towards Sidney Road.

A 15-year-old boy from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

He was also arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and has been conditionally bailed to a later date pending further enquiries.

Police enquiries are ongoing to trace the second boy and anyone with information is asked to come forward.
