REFURBISHING Wirral Hospice St John's patient cubicles have now been made possible thanks to a £10,000 from Cheshire Freemasons.

The grant will go towards materials and fittings to replace cubicle curtains at the hospice which were more than 12 years old.

Jill Littlewood, inpatients ward manager for Wirral Hospice St John’s told the Globe: “We try to re-create a home-from-home feel for all of our patients, and their families, whenever they’re here.

"The new curtains add a bright backdrop in the daytime and the special lining means we have the right kind of light for whenever rest, or sleep, is necessary.

"We’re so grateful to the Cheshire Freemasons for this generous grant.

"We thank them all from the bottom of our hearts”

The new curtains will complement the refurbishment of the family and patient lounges at the hospice and replace the old ones which had lost much of their colour after being rigorously cleaned regularly.

Stephen Blank, head of Cheshire Freemasons said: “We are delighted to have been able to help Wirral Hospice St John’s, on behalf of our many members who appreciate the valuable care and support services they provide.”
