TWO Wirral teens have been arrested after a fight at a Neston park.

Emergency services were called at around 8.40pm on Saturday, June 8 following reports of a fight involving teenagers at Stanney Fields play area off Hinderton Road.

An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with minor head injuries while a 17-year-old girl, who also suffered head injuries, did not need medical attention.

Two 16-year-old boys from Wirral were arrested and have since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives are now urging any witnesses to come forward to help with their investigation.

They also want to hear from anyone who believes they may have CCTV or dashcam footage near the time of the incident.

Detective sergeant Damian Tierney said: “Thankfully the 18-year-old man and the 17-year-old girl only suffered minor injuries.

“The consequences of the incident could have been far worse and I would like to reassure the public that we are determined to establish the full circumstances of what took place.

“I would also like to reassure them that we have stepped up patrols in the area to prevent any further disorder.

“Enquiries into the incident, which occurred at around 8.30pm on Saturday, June 8, are ongoing and I urge anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened, or anything else that may help our investigation, to get in touch.

“The same goes for anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage that may be relevant.”
