TRAINS in Oxfordshire will be disrupted this weekend due to engineering works near Wembley stadium.

Passengers will be unable to reach London from Oxford directly on the Chiltern Railways line all day on Sunday.

It's the latest in a series of closures and timetable amendments after alterations were in place last weekend as well.

All journeys will be affected and there will be a heavily-amended timetable in operation.

There will be no trains between Marylebone and Gerrards Cross and customers will need to travel on other operator's services, London Underground, or rail replacement buses.

Two servies per hour will operate from Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire calling at all stations to Oxford.

A bus will run between Gerrards Cross, Hillingdon and West Ruislip where passengers can pick up the London underground.

One service per hour will travel between London Marylebone, Bicester North and Banbury before moving on to Birmingham Moor Street after being diverted via Aylesbury.

The train operator has advised that most journeys to London will take considerably longer than normal.

Great Western Railway, which runs between Oxford and London Paddington, is unaffected.
