POLICE have confirmed that the body recovered from the River Dee in Chester is that of a man and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

It follows the 'police incident' just after 6am yesterday (Thursday, June 6) when officers were called to the river near The Old Dee Bridge after reports of a body in the river.

The area was cordoned off and the bridge and Souters Lane were closed to all traffic until about 1.45pm.
