A MAN has been taken to hospital after a concern for safety on a M53 bridge.
Emergency services were called at around 9pm on Wednesday, June 5 following reports of a man on the wrong side of railings on the motorway bridge in Woodchurch.
At around 9.50pm he was detained under mental health act and taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.
The M53 was closed in both directions by police officers during the incident.
