A 71-YEAR-OLD motorist involved in a two-vehicle crash on Fender Lane in Moreton has died.
Police were called to the incident, involving a BMW and a Volkswagen panel van, at around 9am on Sunday morning.
The BMW's 71-year-old driver, from Moreton, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but police confirmed this evening that he had passed away.
A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
The family have asked that his name is not made public.
A police spokesperson told the Globe: "The man has now been formally identified but his family have asked for the media and the public to respect their privacy at this difficult time."
The two occupants of the van did not require hospital treatment.
Fender Lane was closed both ways to motorists for more than five hours for accident investigation and vehicle recovery work.
A police appeal for witnesses has been launched.
